Kristen & Dan's Fourth Anniversary Shoot

Kristen has come along as my sidekick to many a wedding (and I to hers). When I was about 9 months pregnant (and feeling very unphotogenic) she talked me into some portraits in a field and I have to say I am so grateful she did. In exchange I agreed that once my baby could be left in someone's able hands I'd return the favor and take some portraits of her and Dan. One year later I arrived with my 1 year old in tow (still not quite able to secure a baby sitter in peak hours...ok I admit - I'm a helicopter mom) and took some pictures .The kids enjoyed watching the horses, and I enjoyed capturing Kristen and Dan. Kristen dusted off her wedding dress and pulled it off better than she did ON her wedding day. How many girls can do that? There was so much light and dust and afternoon beauty that the images are all pretty intense in color and content. Eh - better too much than too little!

Caleb and Leona Take the Plunge

Well... almost. I really tried to get Leona to jump into lake Mary and she would have... but Caleb talked some sense into both of us. This wedding was one near and dear to my heart. Leona is a good friend who is setting off to create a new life for herself with her husband Caleb in South Carolina. Leona talked to me about doing something fun for her pictures after the reception when the light was better and I was ALL for it. I wanted to find a spot that she could have Flagstaff's beautiful scenery behind her so that she would have something to remember the place where she grew up by. Both of them are really outdoorsy people and a canoe was something I'd wanted to incorporate into a wedding shoot for a long time. I'm so glad it panned out. It was a beautiful day combining some of my favorite families ever. Here are a few of my favs from the day:

Leona is the definition of a natural beauty. And her inside is just as beautiful as her outside!!

Caleb's parents are so adorable... and I just loved this shot of them in the resident "model" car :)

Best jumpshot ever...! The dock was metal so leona's dress was reflecting off it.

After sloshing around lake mary and through the mud - I just had to have a photo of their feet!

Leona and Caleb... I wish you love and happiness. I wish you God's mercy and His blessings and a life you can be proud of and work with each other for. I hope that you always look at each other the way you did that day and that your sacred journey together never ends. I will miss Leona... you're a lot younger me but much more mature in many ways. I always looked up to you. I'm so happy you are so in love and so happy you're going to have such a good family to live near and support you. Good luck and safe journeys. :)
