Dave & Katy: The Beach Ceremony

David and Katy's second ceremony included just family on the shores of Lake Ontario. It was more of what you'd expect to see at a typical marriage ceremony - only with a baby strapped to the minister. Yes... ErgoBaby would be proud to see how well it's product works for working moms! This rocky outcrop is in Sandbanks National Park near Picton, just a few kilometres down the road from my brother's house.  What a lovely and unusual place this area is. A perfect place to seal your vows.

Next up... their portraits at the old Picton Airbase. My favorites!!! Here is them getting ready  and the farm ceremony incase you missed it. P.S. If you're ever visiting the County I'll plug my grandparent's B&B . It's a few hours from Ottawa and Toronto.

Dave & Katy's Wedding: Getting Ready

Last month our continent experienced a blue moon. That rare occasion when the moon bares it's full brightness twice in a small space of time. At that same time another more rare occurrence was taking place near the shores of lake Ontario. Dozens of family members from all over the globe gathered around two people very near and dear to me - my brother David and his wife Katy. All the generations of both families made their way to one little farm in Prince Edward county. They flanked the property with helpful hands and grateful smiles to help make their wedding a unique and beautiful occasion. Both families and LOTS of friends turned their fields into a colorful, whimsical wedding extravaganza. There was so much love, laughter, reconciliation... I can't really put this wedding into words. It was everything and nothing of what I expected. I loved that it was all "them". It was very much my brother and his wife. And I love that they used their farm to stage the party of their lives. They are transforming what was a stand of ram-shackled shells of old farm homes into beautiful buildings full of character. I am SO proud of both of them.

Kristen & Dan's Fourth Anniversary Shoot

Kristen has come along as my sidekick to many a wedding (and I to hers). When I was about 9 months pregnant (and feeling very unphotogenic) she talked me into some portraits in a field and I have to say I am so grateful she did. In exchange I agreed that once my baby could be left in someone's able hands I'd return the favor and take some portraits of her and Dan. One year later I arrived with my 1 year old in tow (still not quite able to secure a baby sitter in peak hours...ok I admit - I'm a helicopter mom) and took some pictures .The kids enjoyed watching the horses, and I enjoyed capturing Kristen and Dan. Kristen dusted off her wedding dress and pulled it off better than she did ON her wedding day. How many girls can do that? There was so much light and dust and afternoon beauty that the images are all pretty intense in color and content. Eh - better too much than too little!
